Mornings begin with dispatch communication detailing the day’s pickups, customer requirements and any site-specific instructions. Drivers complete pre-trip inspections on assigned day cab tractors before heading to supplier yards for loading.
Most days include 2–6 stops mixing warehouse transfers, live unloading at construction sites and occasional supplier reloads. Routes adjust throughout the shift as dispatch responds to material availability, contractor schedule changes and jobsite conditions.
Drivers return to the Milwaukee terminal or designated yard at the end of the shift. Paperwork, load securement verification and equipment checks wrap up the day while the next day’s initial assignments are usually available before leaving.
