Hiring Radius: Phoenix Metro & Regional AZ
● Terminal Location: West Phoenix / Tolleson Area
This CDL-A Fuel Tanker opportunity is available with a confidential carrier based in the Phoenix area. Drivers haul refined petroleum products such as gasoline and diesel from terminals in the west Phoenix corridor to retail stations, truck stops, and commercial customers across Arizona.
Fuel demand stays steady year-round in the growing Southwest market. Runs stay mostly within Arizona with occasional longer hauls to places like Tucson or Flagstaff. Most shifts are home daily but require strict safety procedures due to the product.
Shifts often start early. You'll arrive at the terminal or fuel rack, complete your pre-trip, review the BOL, and load through bottom loading with vapor recovery. Loading takes 30-60 minutes depending on the terminal queue.
From there you head to scheduled deliveries at gas stations or fleet locations. Unloading uses hoses and follows customer procedures with grounding and spill prevention. Expect 3-6 stops per shift. Dispatch adjusts for traffic on Loop 101 or I-10 when needed.
After the last delivery, return to the terminal for post-trip inspection, paperwork, and equipment staging. Most days end with you home in the Phoenix area.
You'll transport gasoline, diesel and ethanol blends in multi-compartment MC-406 aluminum tankers. Loads are live loaded at petroleum terminals and live unloaded at customer sites. Strict temperature and safety protocols apply at every step.
Most work is local to regional with consistent volume from steady fuel demand. No drop-and-hook here — every load requires hands-on handling.
This is primarily a home daily position. Most runs return you to the Phoenix area each shift. Occasional regional runs may keep you out longer but still aim for same-day return when possible.
Phoenix serves as a major fuel distribution hub for the Southwest. Petroleum terminals in the west valley supply gasoline and diesel to retail stations and commercial users across Arizona. Steady population growth keeps demand reliable even when other freight slows.
Drivers in CDL-A tanker jobs here work with strict loading rack procedures and customer delivery windows. I-10 and I-17 corridors see heavy tanker traffic heading north to Flagstaff or south to Tucson. Summer heat increases fuel consumption and delivery frequency.
Experienced tanker drivers appreciate the consistent work in the Phoenix energy corridor. This account gives you the chance to stay close to home while handling important fuel supply runs that keep the region moving.
