SAFETY ACHIEVEMENTS
Landstar System, Inc. has recognized hundreds of its top independent owner-operators for exceptional safety achievements during the 2026 Landstar BCO All-Star Celebration held earlier this month in Orlando, Florida. The annual event celebrated drivers who have accumulated one million or more consecutive safe miles without a preventable accident while leased to Landstar, highlighting the company's long-standing commitment to highway safety.
The ceremony included the induction of Landstar's newest class of Million Mile Safe Drivers, recognition of the company's prestigious Roadstar honorees, and presentation of the BCO Lifetime Achievement Award. Reaching these landmarks requires a deep grasp of defensive road procedures, many of which are introduced to professional operators early in their careers through a fast CDL-A trucking school with job placement, setting them up for long-term fleet success.
Landstar President and CEO Frank Lonegro congratulated the award recipients, emphasizing that the milestones represent years of discipline and professionalism. "Achieving one million miles or more without a preventable accident is a rare milestone that reflects exceptional discipline, focus and a deep commitment to safety," said Lonegro. "We are honored to recognize these independent owner-operators who exemplify our safety-first culture."
MILLION MILE MILESTONES
The Class of 2025 includes 126 independent owner-operators who reached significant safe driving milestones:
- 101 One Million Mile Safe Drivers
- 22 Two Million Mile Safe Drivers
- 2 Three Million Mile Safe Drivers
- 1 Four Million Mile Safe Driver
Each driver completed at least one million consecutive miles without a preventable accident, a benchmark that requires years—often decades—of safe commercial driving. The newest class brings Landstar's total number of active Million Mile Safe Drivers to more than 1,000, making it one of the trucking industry's largest safety recognition programs.
The highest honor this year went to Arthur Trezise, who became Landstar's newest Four Million Mile Safe Driver. According to the company, Trezise is only the sixth independent owner-operator in Landstar history to reach four million consecutive safe miles without a preventable accident. Achieving four million accident-free miles represents more than three decades of professional commercial driving while consistently maintaining safe operating practices in a variety of road, weather, and traffic conditions.
Maintaining extreme focus over long distances is especially key for operators handling interstate freight under OTR CDL-A jobs across the USA, where consistent defensive practices protect both the public and precious cargo.

ROADSTAR DISTINCTION
In addition to Million Mile awards, Landstar recognized 11 independent owner-operators with its prestigious Roadstar designation. Roadstar is considered one of Landstar's highest honors and is awarded only to drivers who consistently demonstrate excellence in safety, productivity, customer service, professionalism, and leadership within the Landstar network.
Only a small percentage of Landstar owner-operators earn the Roadstar distinction. These safety achievements translate directly to higher career stability, helping secure reliable regional cargo corridors similar to those traversed in regional CDL-A truck driving jobs.
To calculate the long-term dividend payouts of consecutive safety milestones and compare them against standard transport earnings, operators can consult an interactive truck driver salary calculator. This tool demonstrates how flawless driving records directly preserve and maximize weekly or yearly pay schedules.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT
One of the event's highest honors, the Landstar BCO Lifetime Achievement Award, was presented to Frederick Foster of Niles, Michigan. Foster has been part of the Landstar network since 1989, building an extraordinary 36-year career without a single preventable accident.
Foster specializes in heavy-haul freight and Ammunition, Arms and Explosives (AA&E) transportation, one of the trucking industry's most security-sensitive freight segments. Landstar praised Foster for safely transporting high-security and oversized cargo while maintaining exceptional professionalism, precision, and reliability throughout his career.
Such outstanding safety compliance over nearly four decades is highly valued by independent logistics businesses leased under owner-operator CDL-A trucking jobs USA, as safe operations directly minimize insurance liabilities, eliminate cargo loss, and build premium carrier reputation.
These practices are equally relevant for short-haul commercial operators navigating congested metropolitan freight lanes under local CDL-A truck driving jobs USA, where consistent caution prevents collisions in tight delivery areas.
