Position Overview

This local fuel tanker opportunity is available with a confidential mid-sized petroleum carrier operating out of Joliet. Drivers haul gasoline, diesel, and ethanol blends from regional terminals to retail stations, commercial fleets, and municipal customers across Northern Illinois.

Routes stay within the Chicago metro and surrounding suburbs. Most drivers start and end their shift at the Joliet terminal. The work involves bottom-loading at fuel racks and driver unload at customer sites using standard petroleum delivery procedures.

Hiring Corridor: Primary operations center on Joliet with runs along I-55, I-80, I-88, I-355 and I-57 serving Aurora, Naperville, Elgin, Kankakee, and Morris.

Typical Day

Shifts usually start between 3:30 AM and 6:00 AM. Drivers report to the Joliet terminal for pre-trip inspection, paperwork review, and dispatch updates before heading to a local fuel terminal for bottom loading.

After loading and seal verification you make 5–9 deliveries per shift. Unloading is handled by the driver using hoses and grounding equipment. Routes follow familiar suburban corridors with occasional same-day adjustments from dispatch based on customer inventory needs. Most drivers return to the Joliet terminal by late afternoon or early evening for post-trip and next-day prep.
