Drivers report to the San Bernardino terminal between 4:00 AM and 10:00 AM, finish a pre-trip inspection, review electronic dispatch, and pull the first trailer from the yard or a nearby drop lot.
Three to six short exchanges fill the rest of the shift. Dispatch frequently issues the next assignment before the current delivery is complete, limiting empty miles. Most work is drop-and-hook; the balance requires waiting while warehouse teams finish loading or unloading.
At shift end the driver returns the tractor to the terminal or designated parking, completes the post-trip inspection, submits electronic DVIRs and delivery paperwork, and closes out with dispatch before going home.
