📋 Job Description

  • Move loaded and empty 53-foot dry van trailers between dock doors, staging lanes, and trailer parking areas using yard tractors.
  • Pull completed outbound trailers from warehouse doors and position empty trailers for inbound loading.
  • Perform pre-move inspections, verify trailer numbers, and report any trailer damage to supervisors.
  • Communicate with warehouse personnel, shipping clerks, and gate coordinators via radio and dispatch software.
  • Maintain organized trailer parking throughout the yard and assist with trailer inventory during shift changes.
  • Handle frequent backing and docking maneuvers while operating safely in a busy warehouse environment.

Requirements

CDL Class A

Valid CDL-A license required

Experience

Minimum 12 months of recent CDL-A driving experience. Previous yard hostler or backing experience preferred.

Age

Minimum 21 years old

MVR

Clean driving record consistent with company insurance standards

Ability to perform trailer inspections and operate manual landing gear in all weather conditions
