Work weeks start early with dispatch providing the delivery sequence the afternoon or evening prior. Drivers begin between 4:30–6:00 AM at the company yard, supplier location, or assigned staging area, completing pre-trip inspections, trailer checks, load securement verification, and paperwork review before the first pickup.
Midweek usually brings the highest volume with 2–5 deliveries per day. Routes combine supplier pickups at building material distributors or manufacturer yards with deliveries to contractor locations. Loading takes 30–90 minutes while unloading varies based on customer forklift availability and site conditions.
Days end with return to the Cleveland terminal or approved yard for post-trip inspection, maintenance reporting, and trailer securing. Friday focuses on completing commitments and preparing equipment for the next week. Dispatch coordinates adjustments for traffic, weather, or customer changes throughout the shift.
