A normal week begins with early morning arrival at the Portland terminal for pre-trip inspections, electronic dispatch review and trailer verification. Overnight warehouse teams stage outbound beverage loads from facilities near Portland, Troutdale and Wilsonville. Dispatch may resequence stops based on final loading completion or customer updates before departure.
Drivers typically complete 10–18 deliveries per day across grocery distribution centers, independent supermarkets, restaurant suppliers, convenience warehouses and hospitality accounts. Dock activity consists of drop & hook, live load and live unload operations. Drivers check in at receiving offices, verify appointments, seals and paperwork, then handle pallet counts and returns while coordinating with warehouse personnel.
Afternoons involve continued deliveries, reusable pallet recovery and empty trailer returns to the terminal. Drivers complete post-trip inspections, submit documentation and prepare equipment for the next shift. Dispatch coordinates adjustments for traffic, construction or customer changes throughout the day using Samsara systems.
