Position Overview

A privately owned regional transportation company with approximately 75 power units operates its Local Beverage Distribution Division out of the Kansas City, Missouri terminal. This division moves palletized beverages supporting manufacturers, bottlers, distributors, grocery wholesalers, restaurant suppliers and retail customers throughout the metropolitan area.

Drivers work a Home Daily schedule with shifts starting and ending at the Kansas City terminal. The operation combines city driving, warehouse coordination, multiple customer stops and professional receiving interactions rather than primarily highway miles.

Trailers are primarily 48-foot and 53-foot beverage dry vans from 2016–2021 with liftgates for select stops. Load bars, cargo straps and stabilizers secure pallets. Electric pallet jacks support limited repositioning on liftgate deliveries.

How a Typical Shift Unfolds

Shifts start between 4:00 AM and 6:30 AM at the Kansas City terminal. Drivers review updates, complete pre-trip inspections, verify paperwork and locate trailers. Many loads are pre-staged overnight.

Deliveries begin early to reach warehouses and distributors before peak traffic. Routes include multiple stops with varying dock procedures. Driver Qualifications

Valid CDL-A required. Six months verifiable tractor-trailer experience preferred. Minimum age 21. Current DOT medical certificate. Clean MVR and ability to pass drug screen, road test and background checks.

Ability to maneuver day cabs in urban settings, handle multiple stops, use ELDs and communicate professionally at customer sites. Willingness for occasional overtime and rotating Saturdays during peaks.
