🗺 Terminal & Service Area

Out of our Boise distribution center near the interstate corridors. Routes stay within the Treasure Valley and extend up to about 100 miles. Primary delivery points include Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Eagle, with occasional runs toward Twin Falls or Mountain Home depending on store demand.

  • Base: Boise DC
  • Radius: Mostly under 100 miles
  • Store mix: Chain supermarkets and independent grocers

📦 What the Shift Actually Looks Like

Drivers pull pre-loaded reefers or dry vans from the yard. Expect 8–14 stops per day. Larger chains are mostly drop-and-hook with efficient docks. Smaller independents often require some live unloading assistance or waiting while receivers check in product. You'll handle temperature checks on refrigerated loads, verify manifests, and manage occasional hand-stacking of cases at smaller locations. Most loads are palletized grocery — dry, dairy, frozen, and some produce.

Shifts start early (2–6 AM window) to beat metro traffic and hit store windows. Peak volume Thursday through Saturday. You return to the yard for reloads or final drop, complete paperwork, and park the trailer before heading home.

🚛 Equipment You'll Run

  • Late-model 2019–2024 Freightliner and International tractors
  • Mix of automatic and manual transmissions
  • 53' reefers and dry vans with active refrigeration units
  • ELDs, cameras, and APUs on most assigned trucks
  • Company maintains preventive schedule on all units

⚙️ Morning Yard Flow & Load Prep

Pre-trip inspection, temperature verification on reefers, and load securement checks happen at the DC before heading out. Dispatch stages most trailers. You may need to make minor adjustments to pallets or add securement on mixed loads. Last-minute route changes happen when stores adjust orders or inventory runs low.

📍 Boise Grocery Distribution Driving

This local grocery distribution role keeps drivers in the Treasure Valley pulling out of the Boise terminal. You'll move a mix of dry grocery, refrigerated dairy, frozen goods, and produce to chain stores and independents. Most freight arrives pre-pulled and staged. Expect consistent daily home time after completing your stops, typically finishing by early-to-mid afternoon on normal days though Thursdays through Saturdays run longer during busy periods.

Pay runs hourly with activity incentives and stop pay that rewards efficient deliveries. Drivers deal with typical urban congestion around Meridian, Nampa, and Caldwell, plus variable dock times at smaller retailers. Refrigeration monitoring and proper paperwork remain important every shift. The operation values drivers who handle early starts well and stay flexible when dispatch adjusts routes based on store inventory needs. Late-model equipment with working reefers helps maintain product integrity across the short regional runs.

🏠 Schedule & Home Time Flow
