Routes reach the driver the evening before or during the early morning dispatch window. At the terminal drivers perform pre-trip inspections, confirm trailer temperatures, review customer sequences and special instructions, then depart once the warehouse completes loading by stop order.
Most of the shift involves sequenced multi-stop deliveries. Drivers check in with receiving staff, verify product counts and condition, handle unloading, secure signatures, and update dispatch on any changes. Traffic along I-95, I-76, Schuylkill Expressway, and I-295 corridors often requires real-time adjustments to stop priority.
After the final delivery drivers return to the Philadelphia terminal, complete post-trip inspections, report maintenance issues, and park equipment. The cycle repeats Monday through Friday with occasional weekend work during holidays or high seasonal volume.
