💼 Career Opportunities

This Detroit-based CDL-A dedicated retail role opens several realistic career paths within regional trucking operations. Drivers who demonstrate strong on-time performance and reliability often move into more predictable high-priority retail lanes with fewer stops or higher pay consistency. Some transition into regional roles covering longer Midwest corridors such as Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois for increased mileage and earnings potential. There are also opportunities to move into yard jockey or local hostler positions at major distribution centers in Romulus or Sterling Heights for drivers seeking less road time. Experienced drivers may be considered for trainer roles, helping onboard new hires navigating Detroit’s complex freight network. Dispatch familiarity with the I-75 and I-94 corridors can also lead to dedicated fleet assignments with more stable schedules. Advancement is not guaranteed and depends on freight demand, seasonal retail fluctuations, and terminal needs. However, drivers who consistently handle tight delivery windows and high-density freight environments tend to have more options over time within this network.
