Frequently Asked Questions

How are materials unloaded at job sites?

Most deliveries use crane assistance or forklift support from the jobsite crew. Drivers coordinate placement but do not perform manual unloading of heavy bundles.

What securement work is involved?

Drivers are responsible for tarping with the Conestoga system and using straps/chains before leaving the yard. Securement checks occur at each stop.

Are routes the same every day?

No. Dispatch builds dynamic routes each morning based on current project needs and site readiness across the metro area.

How is wait time handled at construction sites?

Wait time is paid after 20 minutes. Drivers stay in communication with dispatch during staging delays.

Do drivers have assigned trucks?

Yes. Drivers are assigned equipment from the dedicated construction flatbed fleet.

What happens during winter months?

Volume decreases slightly but indoor commercial projects continue. Snow and ice require extra attention to securement and driving conditions.

🧭 Dispatch Notes

  • Load sheets assigned the night before or early morning based on active project demand
  • Sequencing prioritizes morning commercial deliveries downtown and afternoon suburban/residential runs
  • Backhauls of returns are common and help maintain yard efficiency
  • System update: Garmin ELD and mobile dispatch app for real-time updates
  • Load priority status: Time-sensitive materials for active pours or framing stages receive first priority

⚠️ Operational Risk Layer

  • Weather exposure zones: Front Range construction sites, variable mountain-influenced weather
  • Traffic congestion risk: Urban Denver sites and I-25/E-470 corridors during peak hours
  • Load delay probability: Jobsite readiness and crane/forklift availability
  • Equipment sensitivity: Proper tarp and strap management in wind and variable conditions
  • Compliance checkpoints: Frequent DOT focus on flatbed securement in construction areas
