❓ Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of freight will I actually haul?

You’ll mostly move palletized LTL freight between terminals, not retail deliveries or final-mile stops.

Are the routes always the same every week?

Routes are semi-structured, but dispatch rotates lanes based on freight demand and terminal volume.

Is night driving mandatory?

Most freight moves overnight to align with terminal sorting schedules, so night shifts are common.

Do I need hazmat endorsement?

No, but having it may unlock higher-paying freight assignments occasionally.

How much physical work is involved?

Mainly trailer checks and occasional load securement; no heavy unloading or store deliveries.

What kind of downtime can I expect?

Minimal downtime—most routes are optimized for continuous freight movement with quick turnarounds.

💼 Career Opportunities

This Chicago-based CDL-A LTL linehaul role is designed for drivers who want consistent interstate miles without the unpredictability of local delivery work. Over time, drivers can move into dedicated lanes, higher-priority freight corridors, or specialized terminal assignments that offer improved pay structures and more predictable schedules. The LTL network also opens opportunities to become a trainer for new linehaul drivers or transition into dispatch coordination roles within Midwest superhub operations. Some drivers eventually shift into hazardous freight lanes or priority freight relay systems, which come with additional compensation. Because the system is built around structured terminals and predictable freight flow, long-term drivers often develop stable routines while still benefiting from mileage-based earnings and steady freight demand across the Chicago hub network.
