Job Description
- Operate an owner-operated Class A tractor safely across regional or national lanes.
- Select and negotiate freight contracts, balancing mileage, pay, and route efficiency.
- Maintain trucks, including regular maintenance, repairs, and DOT inspections.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state transportation regulations, including ELD and hours-of-service.
- Track expenses and revenue for independent accounting and reporting.
- Communicate with brokers, shippers, and dispatch to coordinate freight.
Requirements
CDL Class A
Valid CDL-A license required
Experience
Proven experience with OTR and/or regional freight
Age Requirement
21 years or older
MVR & Risk
Clean driving record and ability to manage risk independently
Physical Ability
Capable of handling tractor-trailer operations and freight loading/unloading
