Job Description

  • Operate an owner-operated Class A tractor safely across regional or national lanes.
  • Select and negotiate freight contracts, balancing mileage, pay, and route efficiency.
  • Maintain trucks, including regular maintenance, repairs, and DOT inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state transportation regulations, including ELD and hours-of-service.
  • Track expenses and revenue for independent accounting and reporting.
  • Communicate with brokers, shippers, and dispatch to coordinate freight.

Requirements

CDL Class A

Valid CDL-A license required

Experience

Proven experience with OTR and/or regional freight

Age Requirement

21 years or older

MVR & Risk

Clean driving record and ability to manage risk independently

Physical Ability

Capable of handling tractor-trailer operations and freight loading/unloading

Communication

Strong communication skills with brokers, shippers, and clients

Equipment & Fleet
